ETV5 protein produced by in vitro translation in wheat germ extract binds to the E74 Ets-binding site in gel shift assays. ETV5 activates the human ICAM-1 minmal promoter and 3xE74-TK-Luc reporter plasmids following transient transfection in RK13 cells. Etv5 activates the murine bax promoter (bp –2673 to –1) following transient transfection in TAC-2.1 cells.
