[12177005] DNA Binding Human Medium Protein Affinity Chromatography assay demonstrates that cyclin T1 binds Myc TAD (transactivation domain).

Myc/Cyclin T1 transactivates a cad gene promoter - reporter in NIH3T3 cells.

[16287840] DNA Binding; Transactivation; TF PPI Human; Other Strong Coimmunoprecipitation of Myc and Max from HeLa cells demonstrate that endogenous Myc-Max complexes and p300 interact in human cells.

Transient transfection of Myc and p300 in HeLa cells with natural hTERT promoter (an established Myc-regulated promoter)-reporter gene demonstrates transactivation of the reporter gene.

[16767079] DNA Binding Human Strong Data shows that recognition of Myc-binding sites is based on epigenetic features. Euchromatic islands, defined as clusters of specific methyl- and acetyl-histone marks at the 5' end of active or poised genes, are required for Myc to bind DNA. E-boxes outside of euchromatic islands are not significantly bound, whereas virtually all E-boxes within euchromatic islands are bound as demonstrated by quantitative chromatin immunoprecipitation, methylation-sensitive restriction enzyme digestion, and bisulphite genomic sequencing. Reviewer: Debra Fulton

Myc is a transcription factor. It transactivates a cad-reporter in a heterodimer Cyclin T1 and an hTERT-reporter in a Myc-Max-p300 complex. Myc binds E-box motifs within euchromatic islands by quantitative chromatin immunoprecipitation, methylation-sensitive restriction enzyme digestion, and bisulphite genomic sequencing.
