[7838156] DNA Binding; Transactivation Mouse Not Selected It was found by two separate reports to bind DNA, in the first to the sequence AATGT-AGGTCA (PMID: 7838158) and in the second to the related sequence ATAACTAGGTCA (PMID: 7838156). In both reports it acted as a transcriptional repressor in cotransfection reporter assays; however it seems this conclusion must be qualified by the fact that the ligand is not known and may impact activity in vivo. This is an orphan nuclear receptor transcription factor that contains both the C4 zinc-finger DNA-binding domain and the ligand binding domain. It was found by two separate reports to bind DNA, in the first to the sequence AATGT-AGGTCA (PMID: 7838158) and in the second to the related sequence ATAACTAGGTCA (PMID: 7838156). In both reports it acted as a transcriptional repressor in cotransfection reporter assays; however it seems this conclusion must be qualified by the fact that the ligand is not known and may impact activity in vivo.
